These terms apply to your use of fontcompass.com (“FontCompass”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. What FontCompass is
FontCompass publishes guides to the official free styles of commercial fonts: where to download them, what their licenses allow, and what the paid styles cost. We do not host, sell or distribute font files.
2. License summaries are not legal advice
Our summaries describe license documents as we read them on the date shown in each article. Licenses are written and changed by the foundries, and the license that applies to you is the one included with the file you download, or the one you buy. Before using a font in a logo, website, app, product for sale or any use you are unsure about, read the license yourself and contact the foundry if anything is unclear. You are responsible for using fonts within the terms of their licenses.
3. Accuracy
We check sources before publishing and show the date of each check, but prices, availability, download links and license terms can change without notice. Content is provided “as is”, without any warranty that it is complete or current.
4. Downloads and other websites
Download links point to designers’ and foundries’ own websites or to distributors they have authorized. We do not control those websites or the files on them, and their own terms apply. Purchases made through links on this site are handled entirely by the seller.
5. Affiliate links
Some links, mainly to MyFonts, are affiliate links that may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
6. Our content
The articles, tables, measurements and specimen images on FontCompass were created by us unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with a link to the source page. Please do not republish whole articles or our images without permission. Specimen images show typefaces that remain the property of their designers.
7. Trademarks
Font names and foundry names mentioned on FontCompass are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the fonts being discussed. Unless stated otherwise, FontCompass is not affiliated with or endorsed by any designer, foundry or store we write about.
8. Requests from rights holders
If you own a font or a trademark and want something on this site corrected or removed, email info@fontcompass.com and we will review it promptly.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, FontCompass is not liable for losses arising from your use of the site, from errors in its content, from third-party websites or files, or from how you use any font.

We may update these terms. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new date at the top.
