Qanelas Soft Font Free Download: 2 Official Weights

You can download Qanelas Soft UltraLight and ExtraBold for free from the designer’s website and use them in personal and commercial work, including websites. Qanelas Soft is the rounded version of Qanelas, and unlike the free Qanelas files, these have normal word spacing. The other 18 styles are $29 each on MyFonts, or $190 for the complete family (checked 17 October 2026).

Where to download Qanelas Soft for free (official)

Qanelas Soft is designed by Radomir Tinkov, who also made Gilroy and Qanelas. The free ZIP is hosted on tinkov.info/qanelas-soft.html, and the button above downloads it directly from there.

File What it is
QanelasSoftDEMO-UltraLight.otf UltraLight, upright
QanelasSoftDEMO-ExtraBold.otf ExtraBold, upright
Radomir Tinkov Free Font EULA .pdf The license, dated March 23, 2018
Little Cloud Cafe set in Qanelas Soft UltraLight and Qanelas Soft ExtraBold
The two free weights, rendered by FontCompass from the official files.

Despite the “DEMO” file names, these are complete fonts: 468 characters each, including accented Latin and Cyrillic, with kerning and OpenType features such as ligatures, fractions and a stylistic set. We checked the word space too: 0.28 em in UltraLight and 0.25 em in ExtraBold, which is normal. (The free Qanelas files, by contrast, have spaces twice as wide.)

What the free license allows

The ZIP contains the same one-page Radomir Tinkov Free Font End User License Agreement (version dated March 23, 2018) that ships with the free Gilroy weights. The file is byte-for-byte identical. Its first clause allows use “solely for your personal and commercial purposes”, and a later clause allows web fonts generated from the files via @font-face.

Use Free styles
Personal and commercial projects, print, logos, products Allowed
Websites via @font-face Allowed, no pageview limit stated
Sharing, selling or bundling the font files Not allowed
Modifying the font files Not allowed without written consent
Apps, e-books, servers Not mentioned, so not granted

The two free weights sit at opposite ends of the family, which is useful in practice: ExtraBold for headlines and logos, UltraLight for large, airy display lines. For body text you will want a paid Regular or Medium.

We walk through each clause in our Gilroy free download guide, which uses the same license.

What the paid styles cost

The family has 20 styles: ten weights from Thin to Black, each with an italic. MyFonts prices in USD, checked 17 October 2026:

License One style Complete family (20 styles)
Desktop, 1 user $29 $190
Desktop, 5 users $104.40 $684
Company Desktop, up to 20 employees $54.38 $356.25
Webfonts, 10,000 pageviews/month $29 $190
Webfonts, 100,000 pageviews/month $112.38 $736.25
Electronic Doc (e-book, PDF), 1 title $58 $380
Digital Ad / Email, 1,000,000 impressions $29 $190
App, 1 title $435 $2,850
Server, 1 CPU core $290 $1,900

At $29 per style and $190 for the family, the family is cheaper once you need seven or more styles.

Free alternatives, compared

Branding set in Qanelas Soft ExtraBold, Nunito Bold and Quicksand Bold, with bars showing Nunito 3 percent wider and Quicksand 7 percent wider
Same size, same word. Nunito is the closest in width.
  • Nunito Bold (Google Fonts, SIL Open Font License) is only 3% wider and also has rounded terminals; it is the closest free match for running text.
  • Quicksand Bold is 7% wider and lighter in feel, with more open, geometric rounds.
  • Both offer a full range of weights for free, which helps when you need a Regular for body copy next to the free Qanelas Soft ExtraBold.

Quick answers
